Project details

The series “Witnesses X,Y” came to life between 2006-2009, as a marginal project at the time. By the end of 2008. I realised a potential it had, and shifted all of my attention to it, which in turn culminated with first solo exhibition of the series in Belgrade in october 2009. Work consisted of painting and wood carving  over black industrial masonite. This approach proved to be both interesting and rewarding, offering variety of choices, and allowing me to dive in to the subject that was close to my heart. The idea of the series was natural, and was directly inspired by the social, political and historical realities of Balkans and especially Serbia on the turn of the century.
